Ring Sizing Guide: How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home

Why Ring Sizing Matters

Ordering the wrong ring size is the most common issue in online jewelry shopping. Measuring accurately at home takes less than five minutes and prevents the hassle of returns.

Method 1: Paper Strip Method (Most Accurate)

  • Cut a thin strip of paper about 10cm long
  • Wrap snugly around the base of the finger
  • Mark where the paper overlaps
  • Measure the marked length in millimeters — this is your circumference

Tip: Measure in the evening — fingers swell during the day. For wide bands (over 6mm), go up half a size.

Method 2: Existing Ring Method

If you have a well-fitting ring, measure its inside diameter in millimeters and use a size chart to convert. This is the most reliable method if you have a reference ring.

International Ring Size Quick Reference

  • 49mm circumference = US 5 / EU 49 / UK J
  • 52mm circumference = US 6 / EU 52 / UK L
  • 54mm circumference = US 7 / EU 54 / UK N
  • 57mm circumference = US 8 / EU 57 / UK P
  • 60mm circumference = US 9 / EU 60 / UK R
  • 62mm circumference = US 10 / EU 62 / UK T

When in Doubt, Size Up

Always go up if between sizes. Sizing down is easier and cheaper than sizing up. Adjustable open-band rings typically fit US 5–9 for women and US 8–12 for men.
